WELCOME TO THE BRITISH BUSINESSMEN'S CLUB...
The forum for business men and women of all nationalities to make social and sporting contacts in the German Federal State North Rhine Westphalia.
The British Businessmen's Club, established over 50 years ago, plays an active part in the international community of greater Düsseldorf, serving members of all nationalities having business or related activities in this area. The Club organises a range of activities including monthly dinners with guest speakers from diverse walks of life, sports as well as other events and raises funds for charity and good causes. An informative and lively monthly newsletter is published.
The Club provides a meeting point in an informal and relaxing atmosphere for members to make new contacts both professional and social, enjoy one another's company and exchange opinions and information.
We are probably best known for our wide range of stimulating after-dinner speakers at our Club Dinners which usually are held on the second Tuesday of each month. In recent years these have included the former British Prime Minister, Sir Edward Heath, the British Ambassador to Germany, Howard Flight, founder and managing director of Guinness Flight Investment Management, Bernd Pischetsrieder, Chairman of BMW, Sir Ian Vallance, Chairman of British Telecom, Sir Alistair Morton, former Chairman of Euro Tunnel. We have been entertained in a lighter vein by Sir Clement Freud, Ray Allen and "Lord Charles" - the world's greatest ventriloquist, and re-lived the high spots in the world of sport with Freddy Trueman, Henry Cooper, Terry Venables and Chay Blythe.
Sports include, squash, badminton, rugby and cricket. We hope to re-introduce tennis shortly.
